Introductory Post

Hello Comm41 class,
I am a 19 year old female who attends San Jose State as a second year. I was born and raised in San Francisco, California, but I now live in San Jose. My major is Pre-Nursing, but I am considering to minoring in either Child Development or Health Science. I have taken Communication Studies Speech class during my first year of college. Despite the fact that speeches were really nerve wrecking, I really enjoyed the class. Presenting speeches  gave me the opportunity to meet new friends, and to communicate with my classmates and professor. This is my first time taking an online class, and I am looking forward to taking it! =)

  6. The classes for Child Development were great, and it should be for you if you're really interested in the subject. I took Chad 67, Chad 60 and intro to Psychology for my lower division major courses. They were pretty easy since they all kind of tie along with each other. :)

  7. This is AWESOME!

Another Bay Area native! I'm from Oakland myself. You know, a RAIDERS fan whose team went undefeated in its division @LRGeezy (cough, cough). So as a potential CHAD minor, what do you plan on doing with that field of study? Another question I tend to ask Pre-Nursing majors is "Why?" What made you choose a major that is so demanding?

Also, just because this is an online class doesn't mean you can slack off. Trust me, I learned the hard way. You will be fine as long as you put the same effort into this class as you would in your F2F classes.

  8. Haha oh I actually took Chad60 and it was really interesting. I took Chabachourian and he made the class really fun and taught us well :). Well I have always wanted to become a nurse when I was younger. Playing "doctor" or "nurse" with my sisters when we were younger really fascinated me and as I was in high school, I really wanted to major in Pre-Nursing. I specifically want to be a Pediatrician when I grow up. When I was younger, I use to babysit my little brother while my parents were at work, took care of my cousins, and now, I babysit my 2 year old nephew and niece when my sister asks me to. I enjoy working with kids and hope to learn the little things about them; how they grow and the way their personalities develops as they grow older. =)
